So Philadelphia’s been looking like the Planet Hoth lately with the constant battering of these storms lately.
So I thought that I would brighten up our day with a few Penn pics from warmer Instagram days.
Just remember we’re halfway through Winter and Spring comes next month.

On New Year’s Day, the Penn Women’s Basketball team beat the University of Miami 67-66. This was the first win against an ACC school for our team.
Nearly 50 local alumni and families were there to cheer on the Quakers, which includes our local Alyssa Baron, a Penn senior, and leader of her team.
The Baron family and other team parents brought the Penn crowd to nearly 100 fans! It was a great way to start the new year by cheering for the red and blue while enjoying the warm weather of our “Sunshine State”.
The crowd included current students, newly admitted Class of 2018 students, Penn parents, alumni, and members of the Old Guard.
The Penn Club of Miami proudly waved our flag and we cheered for our red and blue.

Last weekend, the Penn Alumni Club of Philadelphia hosted three sold out events in three days. On Friday night, we attended opening night of Mask and Wig’s 126th Annual Production: “Wishful Sinking.” What a great night of laughter and live theater!

On Saturday afternoon, we hosted our bi-annual Casserole Blitz volunteer event with the University City Hospitality Coalition. For over 25 years, the University City Hospitality Coalition has served the homeless and hungry in University City. More photos on Facebook.

On Sunday, we celebrated Chinese New Year at our 2nd Annual Dim Sum event in Chinatown. More photos on Facebook.

FAMILY NIGHT at the PALESTRA
On March 7, 2014, the Association of Alumnae and Alumni Relations held a successful event with the Penn Women’s Basketball team at the Palestra for the 3rd Annual Family Night at the Palestra!
FAMILY DAY at MASK and WIG
On March 22, 2014, Alumni Relations hosted its 4th Annual Family Day at Mask and Wig! Many alumni brought their kids to the Mask and Wig Clubhouse, 310 S. Quince Street, Philadelphia, for a fun-filled afternoon beginning with lunch, followed by an age-appropriate show. After the show, the kids joined the performers on stage for a kick-line and singing of the Red and Blue. Penn’s Mask and Wig is an all-male comedy troupe that has entertained Philadelphians and the Penn community since 1889 with its original revues. This year’s production, Wishful Sinking, was adapted to appeal to children ages 12 and under.
4O WINKS with the SPHINX and PENN ALUMNI
On Friday and Saturday, March 14 and 15, 2014, Penn alumni and their children spent an overnight adventure at Penn’s Museum for 40 Winks with the Sphinx and Penn Alumni. The night’s activities are geared to take intrepid explorers on a journey through time and across continents, with hands-on opportunities, through games and crafts, to explore ancient Egypt, the mummies and hieroglyphics, the ancient Greeks and Romans, the world of the ancient Maya, and more! Following a scavenger hunt and an evening expedition through the galleries by flashlight, explorers rolled out their sleeping bags to doze at the foot of the third largest granite Sphinx in the world. The program concluded with a light breakfast in the Museum Cafe at 8am.
